Timeless Beauty: French Antique Plates

Today, we've added 8 beautiful antique plates.

Antique plates, handed down through the generations, are not merely tableware but works of art that tell their own history and stories. Each one is unique, exuding an irreplaceable presence that adds a special touch to daily life.

The plates we're introducing today are all exquisite, showcasing the distinct personalities of various potteries. What they share in common is the warmth of the artisans' handiwork from their era and the beauty of designs that remain vibrant through time.

A Glimpse at Our Current Selection

  • Clairefontaine Pottery "Athenes" Series The delicate design, woven from classic blue and white hues, is appealing in its simple yet refined beauty. It brings an elegant atmosphere to any dining table.

  • Longwy Pottery "Été" Series As its name, meaning "summer" in French, suggests, this design evokes the gentle scenes of summers past. Its warm colors and delicate brushwork captivate the viewer.

  • Onnaing Pottery "Eglantines" Series "Eglantines" refers to wild roses. The dynamically depicted bouquets and delicate rim decorations add a festive touch to the plate. The cream-colored base, with its crazing and discoloration, exudes a truly antique charm.

  • Gien Pottery "Capucines" Series Featuring vivid nasturtium flowers depicted with a vibrant energy, this series showcases the delicate artistry characteristic of Gien pottery. It brightens and warms the dining table.

  • K&G Luneville Pottery "Lutéce" Series Lovely cornflower motifs encircle the central blank space, with impressive nostalgic blue gradations. The elegant design of the rim is also a highlight.

  • Choisy-le-Roi Pottery "Floréal" Series A rich and graceful floral design in a calm, wine-red hue. Delicate plant tendrils and flowers spread across the plate, creating an exotic feel.

The Charm of Antiques and Notes on Purchase

These plates have existed for over 100 years. As such, many show slight color variations or minor scratches from manufacturing, as well as "crazing," which are cracks in the glaze. Some may also have discoloration or stains from age, but these are part of the unique character of antique items, a precious testament to their history.

Our shop imports these antique plates as "decorative items." We cannot guarantee their safety or durability as tableware, so please use them at your own discretion.

You can enjoy them in various ways: display them in a cabinet, hang them on a wall as an interior accent, or use them as a tray for your favorite accessories or small items.

Please take a look.
