Today, we've added wonderful new vintage and antique plates from France! Both pieces possess a charm that comes from their age and the warmth of handmade craftsmanship. Please read on to the end.
Gien Vintage Dessert Plate: Enchanted by Delicate Flowers
First, let's introduce a 1970s vintage dessert plate made by the renowned French pottery manufacturer "Gien." This is a rare item specially produced for "Yves Rocher," a French cosmetics brand well-known in Japan.
The plate is adorned with the "Hairy Bindweed" flower. It's an adorable flower often seen in French fields, blooming throughout the day. Its dynamic depiction, combined with the refined rim design, makes it resemble a painting. It's also recommended for display. The convenient 17cm diameter is another attractive feature. While there is crazing, a testament to its vintage nature, there are no chips or cracks, and it is in very good condition.
Longchamp Antique Deep Plate "Roseraie": Captivated by Delicate Rose Patterns
Next, we present an antique deep plate from the Longchamp pottery, produced between 1912 and 1939, reaching even further back in time. The series name is "Roseraie."
The hand-painted rose pattern, meticulously colored, radiates an indescribable beauty. The hues of the rose petals and the elegant curves of the leaves and stems evoke the presence of the artisans of that era. While there is crazing and slight bleeding of the pattern from the manufacturing process, it remains in excellent condition for an antique.
Both plates are unique pieces that convey French craftsmanship and history. They not only brighten your daily dining table but also have the charm to make any space special just by being there.
