We have uploaded items from the Onnaing (Anzin) Eglantines series.
Today, we've added items from the Eglantines series by Onnaing pottery.
We've added a total of 9 items: 8 plates and 1 large oval platter.
The FranJours Ginza store also has plates from the same series on display.
The Onnaing pottery was located in the town of Onnaing in northern France, near Belgium. It was particularly famous for its barbotine ware and existed from 1821 to 1938.
This particular series does not have the usual backstamp. Furthermore, instead of "Terre de fer" (ironstone), it is marked "Ivoire" (ivory), leading us to believe it was a special edition.
The cream-colored plates, with their added coloration and crazing, have a wonderful antique charm.
Please take a look.
