Beautiful Lines and Memories of Craftsmanship Alive in Everyday French Life

In this season of gentle light, today we introduce newly arrived vintage and antique items.

This latest collection includes Gien plates from the 1950s with a modern spirit, Digoin & Sarreguemines "flower rim" plates that have been cherished through time, and 100-year-old glasses that softly embrace the light.

"Gien Brigitte" - Marking an Intellectual Rhythm

First, we introduce the "Brigitte" series from the Gien pottery. What immediately catches the eye is the graphical checkered pattern, applied by hand (Décoré à la main).

It has a nostalgic and intellectual appearance, reminiscent of the ruled lines in old school notebooks used by French students. The slight irregularity of the hand-drawn lines gives a gentle vitality to the geometric pattern.

We have prepared not only flat plates but also soup plates where the pattern dynamically dances along the curve of the bowl. Simply propping them on a shelf will imbue the space with the sophisticated atmosphere of an old Parisian apartment.

Gentle and Lovely "Digoin & Sarreguemines Rohan"

Next is the "Rohan (flower rim)" series from Digoin & Sarreguemines. As the name "flower rim" suggests, its edges curve like petals, embodying a classic beauty of French antiques.

The slightly cream-colored, warm ceramic surface blends gently into any space. Simple yet elegant, the undulating rim creates delicate shadows depending on the light, instantly bringing a touch of glamour to your table.

"Facette Glass" - Enjoying the Play of Light and Shadow

Finally, we introduce antique facet glasses made in the early 20th century.

The glass, with its unique hand-blown undulations, contains tiny bubbles quietly suspended within, as if holding the very air of that era.

The multifaceted (facet) bowl is formed through molding rather than cutting, resulting in surprisingly smooth edges. When filled with water or when light passes through, the shadows cast around evoke the pleasant sensation of gazing at a calm water surface.

Arranging the water, wine, and port wine sizes together to enjoy the differences in their proportions is a luxurious pleasure unique to antiques.

Connecting Eras, the Charm of One-of-a-Kind Pieces

All the items introduced here are unique pieces that have traveled through a long journey. Slight imperfections from manufacturing or crazing due to age are not flaws, but rather part of the "story" that each piece has lived, and we hope they will be cherished.
