We've added vintage Sarreguemines WINDSOR series tableware.
Sarreguemines, an old kiln that has supported France's rich culinary culture. Among its many series, we introduce the "Windsor" series, which is particularly appealing for its design that subtly incorporates British elegance.
This time, we have uploaded a total of nine pieces: dinner plates, dessert plates, and cake plates.
🇬🇧 The Story Behind Windsor
The series name "Windsor" comes from the historic and prestigious town located west of London, along the River Thames. The defining characteristic of these plates, the reddish-brown (sepia-toned) transferware pattern, evokes the reddish-brown roofs and walls of the town's buildings, exuding a sense of calm and grandeur.
The powerfully yet elegantly drawn oriental botanical patterns also possess an exotic charm. This deep sepia tone changes its expression with the lighting, captivating those who behold it.
🎨 Coordination to Enhance its Charm
The sepia-toned plates of the Windsor series are characterized by their versatility, pairing well with any tableware.
-
When combined with rustic linen or wooden cutlery, it creates a warm French country atmosphere.
-
When combined with crystal glasses or silver cutlery, it creates a formal and traditional British table setting.
