Antique Dessert Plate Gien Fauvette B
This is an antique dessert plate from Gien's "Fauvette" series.
"Fauvette" means warbler, often seen in the south of France.
It features lively depictions of the charming bird resting in berry vines, as well as wild flowers and vines. The bird appears to be calling out with its mouth wide open, perhaps notifying its companions of an abundance of berries.
The border pattern and the central image connect seamlessly, creating a unified picture.
It's a wonderful series that you'll want to display and enjoy.
Condition: Craquelure is present and discolored. There are also utensil marks, indicating that the plate has been used. You can enjoy the soft atmosphere of this antique piece.
