Antiques de Plaisir Large Longueuil Muguet (lily of the valley)
This is a large antique soup tureen with the Muguet (lily of the valley) pattern.
Lily of the valley is also known as "Kimikagesou" (literally, "your shadow plant"), and evokes the image of a beautiful, modest woman who watches over a loved one from the shadows, longing for them.
With its simple and understated beauty, lily of the valley has long been cherished in France as a flower that "brings happiness and brings happiness back again." May 1st is "fête du muguet," a day when people give lilies of the valley to their loved ones. It is also a popular flower for weddings, as its appearance resembles a bride wearing a veil.
This design evokes the modest beauty of the lily of the valley. The deep greenish-blue and white ceramics enhance its elegance. Small floral reliefs between the patterns add a soft, lace-like impression, making this series truly charming.
Craquelure and some minor stains are present. There are no chips or cracks, and the soup tureen is in very good condition.
