Antique Soup Tureen, Saint-Amand, Pompadour
This is an antique soupiere from the Saint-Amand pottery, part of the Pompadour series.
Against a white porcelain base, elegant Rococo-style floral patterns are depicted in a somewhat dull blue-green, muted transfer print, befitting the magnificent name "Pompadour."
With its gracefully rounded form, the lid's finial is shaped like three-dimensional plants (buds and leaves), showcasing the charm of French antiques in every detail.
This soupiere transcends its original use as tableware, shining as an "antique for display."
Placed on a console or chest, its three-dimensional lidded form and gorgeous blue floral pattern will
become an eye-catching focal point in your room, creating a classic and refined atmosphere.
We also recommend using it as an elegant decorative pot for dried flowers or potpourri.
With its presence and historical beauty, you can enjoy it as a dignified interior piece, much like an artifact from a museum collection.
Condition: Several cracks are visible, but only one appears to penetrate all the way through.
Overall, they are not conspicuous and do not detract from the wonderful antique atmosphere of a bygone era.
Size: Approximately 30cm (including handles) x 22cm (mouth diameter) x 23cm (height) (13.5cm without lid)
Era: Early 20th Century
