Cierge (candle) 4cm diameter Rouge (red)
Ciergerie des Prémontrés
4cm Diameter Cierge (Candle)
These 4cm diameter candles are made using a method called "A La Louche" (ladle method). This technique is also known as "haute couture" for candles, and the candles consecrated in churches are made using the same method.
This is a medieval technique where the entire process, from start to finish, is done by hand by artisans. This results in very high quality and allows for the creation of large, thick candles (up to 140cm in height and 12cm in diameter).
The artisan attaches the candle wick to a metal ring and repeatedly ladles hot, melted wax onto the wick hundreds of times to gradually thicken it. By continuously "adding wax and shaping it," the candle is formed, creating beautiful layers that resemble the annual rings of a tree.
In addition to this, Ciergerie des Prémontrés candles are made with great care, incorporating plenty of beeswax and ensuring the wick is thoroughly saturated with wax. This allows them to burn twice as long as ordinary candles.
These candles are an item we highly recommend incorporating into your table settings. You can enjoy them in many ways, such as combining candles of different heights, thicknesses, and colors, or by adding candle jewels to create your desired atmosphere.
If you are using them as interior decor without lighting them, they stand upright without needing to be fixed, so you can use them as is. If you are lighting them, please be careful to prevent them from falling over by dripping wax onto a plate to secure them or by fixing them in a holder.
