These 4cm diameter candles are made using a technique called A La Louche (ladle method). This technique is also known as candle haute couture, and candles offered to churches are made using the same method.

This is a medieval technique where the candles are made entirely by hand by artisans from beginning to end, resulting in very high quality and allowing for large and thick candles to be produced. (Candles up to 140cm in height and 12cm in diameter can be made.)

The artisan attaches the candle wick to a metal ring and repeatedly scoops hot melted wax with a ladle onto the wick hundreds of times, gradually thickening it. By repeating the process of "adding and shaping," the candles are created with beautiful layers, much like the annual rings of a tree.

In addition, Ciergerie des Prémontrés candles are made with great care, containing plenty of beeswax and with wicks thoroughly soaked in wax, allowing them to burn for approximately twice as long as regular candles.

This is an item we highly recommend incorporating into your table coordination. You can enjoy it in many ways, such as combining candles of different heights, thicknesses, and colors, or attaching candle jewels to create your desired atmosphere.

If using as an interior decoration without lighting, they stand upright without needing to be fixed. If lighting, please be careful to prevent tipping by dripping wax onto a plate to adhere it or by securing it in a holder.
