This is an antique dessert plate from the Longwy Lily of the Valley series.

A versatile dessert plate. You'll be enchanted by the beautiful lily of the valley garland-like pattern.

The lily of the valley is also known as "Kimikage-sou" (shadow-hiding grass), evoking the image of a beautiful and modest woman who cherishes her loved ones and quietly watches over them from the shadows.

With its simple and understated beauty, the lily of the valley has long been famous in France as "the flower that brings happiness" and "the flower that brings happiness again." May 1st is "fête du muguet," a day to give lilies of the valley to loved ones. It is also often given at weddings, as its appearance resembles a veiled bride.

The pattern evokes the modest beauty of the lily of the valley. The deep greenish-blue and white ceramics enhance its elegance. Small floral relief patterns are applied between the main patterns, adding a soft, lace-like impression to this charming series.

Crazing and a few stains are visible. There is a large chip on the rim.
