This is an antique plate from the Longwy factory's Muguet (lily of the valley) series.

Lily of the valley is also known as "Kimikagesou" (shadow-watching grass), and it evokes the image of a beautiful and modest woman who thinks of a loved one and quietly watches over them from the shadows.

With its rustic and understated beauty, lily of the valley has long been famous in France as a beloved flower, known as "the flower that brings happiness" or "the flower that brings happiness again." May 1st is also a day to give lily of the valley to loved ones. Furthermore, because it resembles a bride wearing a veil, it is a popular flower given at weddings.
