Antique Plate, U&C Sarreguemines, Groseilles (Redcurrants) 1-B

This is an antique plate from the U&C Sarreguemines factory, from the Groseilles series.

This particular plate features "red currants," with small berries on long, hanging clusters, as its main motif.

Each individual berry from the abundantly laden currants is beautifully rendered with varying shades of blue, creating a delicate gradation.
The bold composition of branches extending from the center and the use of negative space evoke an elegant charm characteristic of French antiques.

Fine crazing is spread across the entire surface, and over many years, the porcelain has transformed into a soft cream color.
While "discoloration" and "signs of use" unique to antiques are present, these are precisely the proof of nearly a century of history.
It exudes a refined and calm vintage elegance that new items lack.
This well-worn texture pairs perfectly with wooden furniture and dried flowers, and as an interior decoration, it seamlessly blends into any space, making it a piece full of character.
