Antique Plate: U&C Sarreguemines Groseilles (Currants) 2-E

This is an antique plate from the U&C Sarreguemines factory, part of the Groseilles (Gooseberry) series.

The design features large, plump "gooseberries" as its main motif.

The unique stripes on the surface of the berries and even the tiny thorns on the branches are intricately depicted, showcasing the high skill of the artisans of that time. In contrast to the delicate depiction of redcurrants, the powerful composition that conveys the weight and vitality of the fruit is charming.
With its striking pattern, it would also be wonderful as a wall decoration.

Condition: Crazing due to age is visible. There are some minor scratches on the rim, but they are not noticeable. It maintains a very lustrous and good condition for an antique.
