Antique Deep Plate - Badonviller Brunoy D

This is an antique deep plate from the Brunoy series by Badonviller Pottery.

This antique deep plate, made by Badonviller, a long-established pottery in the Lorraine region east of Reims, has a charmingly gentle and rustic feel.

A garland pattern of continuous leaves and small flowers (or berries), drawn in a greenish hue, encircles the rim of the plate.
This design evokes mistletoe, a motif considered in Europe to represent "good fortune," "longevity," and "protection against evil," giving it a simple yet auspicious and wonderful meaning.
The varying shades of green in the pattern and the small dots outlining the edge add depth and a handcrafted warmth to the overall design.

Condition: There is a small chip on the unglazed footring, and some crazing is visible, but otherwise, it is in good condition.
Size: Approximately 24 cm in diameter x 4 cm in height
Period: Early 20th century
