The lily of the valley, also known as "Kimikage-sou" (shadow-watching grass), evokes the image of a beautiful and modest woman who gazes upon her loved one, quietly watching over them from the shadows.

With its simple and understated beauty, the lily of the valley has long been cherished in France as "the flower that brings happiness and brings happiness anew." May 1st is "fête du muguet," a day when lilies of the valley are given to loved ones. Also, because they resemble a veiled bride, they are often given as gifts at weddings.
