This is an antique large round dessert plate from the Longwy Muguet (Lily of the Valley) series.

Lily of the Valley is also known as "Kimikage-sou" (shadow-hiding grass) in Japan, evoking the image of a beautiful and modest woman who cherishes someone dear and watches over them gently from the shadows.

With its simple and understated beauty, Lily of the Valley is also famous in France as a beloved flower, known since ancient times as "the flower that brings happiness and brings back happiness." May 1st is " fête du muguet," a day when lilies of the valley are given to loved ones. It is also a popular flower for weddings, as its appearance resembles a veiled bride.
