This 4 cm diameter candle is made using a technique called "À la Louche" (ladle method). This technique is also known as "Haute Couture of Candles," and the candles offered to churches are made using the same method.

This medieval technique involves the entire process being handcrafted by artisans from start to finish, resulting in extremely high quality and allowing for large and thick candles to be produced (up to 140 cm in height and 12 cm in diameter).

The artisan connects the candle wick to a metal ring and repeatedly pours hot molten wax onto the wick with a ladle hundreds of times, gradually thickening it. The candles created by this repeated process of "adding and shaping" develop beautiful layers, much like the annual rings of a tree.

In addition, Ciergerie des Prémontrés candles are made with great care, using plenty of beeswax and ensuring the wick is thoroughly saturated with wax, allowing them to burn for about twice as long as ordinary candles.
