Antique Cup & Saucer, Sarreguemines Brûlot Red C

This is an antique cup and saucer, a Brûlot in red, from the Sarreguemines pottery.

It features a simple yet striking design, accented by deep red lines.

Brûlot cups are made thicker than usual,
reportedly because they were once used for "café brûlot," where flamed spirits were added to coffee.
Their thick construction is ideal for enjoying warm beverages slowly.

Condition: There are lumps inside from the manufacturing process and crazing due to age, but there are no chips or cracks, and no signs of use.
It remains in excellent condition for an antique item.
