Antique Cup & Saucer, Sarreguemines Brûlot, Red D

This is an antique cup and saucer, a "brûlot" in red, from the Sarreguemines factory.

It features a simple yet striking design, accented by deep red lines.

Brûlot cups are made thicker than usual, and it is said that this is because they were once used for "Café Brûlot," a drink where flamed alcohol was added to coffee.
The thick construction is suitable for enjoying warm beverages slowly.

Condition: There are crazing due to age and small chips on the foot rim, but there are no signs of use, and it is in very good condition for an antique item.
