Antique cup & saucer, Sarreguemines Brûlot Red F
This is an antique cup and saucer from Sarreguemines (Sarreguemines pottery), in the "Brûlot Red" design.
It features a simple yet striking design, accented by deep red lines.
Brûlot cups are typically made thicker than usual, reportedly because they were once used for "café brûlot," a drink where flambéed alcohol was added to coffee.
Their thick construction is ideal for slowly enjoying warm beverages.
Condition: There is some age-related crazing and a small chip on the foot rim, but there are no signs of use.
It remains in very good condition for an antique item.
