Antique Pedestal Plate, Creil-Montereau, Japon A

This is an antique footed plate from the Creil & Montereau factory, part of their "Japon" series.

The "Japon" series by Creil & Montereau was heavily influenced by Japonism, which saw Japanese aesthetics sweep across Europe in the late 19th century.

It features delicate paintings reminiscent of Japanese landscapes, rendered in a deep lapis lazuli blue gosho glaze.
Plants such as bamboo, pine, and plum are depicted, and the composition makes use of negative space, highlighting the serene beauty of the East.
The rim is adorned with designs that evoke traditional Japanese patterns, showing meticulous attention to detail in every corner.

It's wonderful for serving cakes, fruits, or sweets, and also as a tray for displaying your favorite accessories or small items.

Condition: It is extremely rare for an item to remain in such beautiful condition after approximately 130 years.
