Antique Dessert Plate Gien Fauvette D

This is an antique dessert plate from the Gien faience factory, part of the Fauvette series.

"Fauvette" refers to a warbler, a bird often seen in Southern France.

The plate vividly depicts the charming birds resting on berry vines and the wild appearance of the flowers and vines. The bird seems to be opening its mouth wide, as if announcing to its companions that there are many berries.
