Antique dessert plate, Longwy, Muguet (lily of the valley), F
This is an antique dessert plate from the Longwy Lily of the Valley series.
A versatile dessert plate. You'll be enchanted by the beautiful lily of the valley garland-like pattern.
The lily of the valley is also known as "Kimi Kage Sou" (shadow grass), evoking the image of a beautiful and modest woman who quietly watches over a loved one from the shadows.
The lily of the valley, with its rustic and understated beauty, has long been famous in France as "the flower that brings happiness and brings happiness again." May 1st is also "fête du muguet," a day to give lilies of the valley to loved ones. It is also often given at weddings because it resembles a bride wearing a veil.
Such a pattern evokes the modest beauty of the lily of the valley. The deep greenish-blue and white ceramic further enhance its elegance. Between the patterns, a small floral relief is applied, adding a soft, lace-like impression, making this a truly charming series.
There is crazing and staining. There is also a small chip on the rim.
