This is an antique dessert plate from the Muguet (Lily of the Valley) series by Longwy pottery.

An antique plate that you'll want to add to your treasured collection. It's an item you'll want to display on a shelf or use to hold accessories, rather than keeping it tucked away.

The lily of the valley is also known as "Kimi Kage Sou" (shadow grass), evoking the image of a beautiful and modest woman who cherishes a loved one and quietly watches over them from the shadows.

With its rustic and understated beauty, the lily of the valley has long been famous in France as "the flower that brings happiness" or "the flower that brings back happiness." May 1st is "fête du muguet," a day when lilies of the valley are given to loved ones. Also, because its appearance resembles a veiled bride, it is a flower often given at weddings.

The pattern evokes the modest beauty of the lily of the valley. The deep greenish-blue color and white pottery further enhance its elegance. Between the patterns, small floral reliefs are applied, adding a soft, lace-like impression, making it a truly charming series.
