This is an antique dessert plate from the U&C Sarreguemines factory, part of the Geranium series.

The design, with geraniums arranged all around the rim of the plate, looks luxurious, almost like a floral crown. One can almost sense the green, floral fragrance.

This series was produced in the 1890s at the Utzschneider & Cie earthenware factory in Sarreguemines.

In France, vibrant red and pink geraniums have long been seen adorning windowsills and in pots. Known for their refreshing scent, geraniums are also popular for their insect-repelling properties, which is why they have traditionally been placed by windows.

Geraniums are very familiar to the French. At the end of their slender, delicate stems, they bear many small, charming star-shaped flowers. Their adorable appearance is one reason they are so beloved.

Condition: There is crazing spread across the entire surface, and some stains, cutlery marks, and scratches are visible, but there are no chips or cracks.
