This is an antique dessert plate from the Muguet (lily of the valley) series by Longwy Pottery.

The lily of the valley is also known as "Kimikage-sou" (shadow of the beloved grass) and evokes the image of a beautiful, modest woman who thinks of a loved one and quietly watches over them from the shadows.

With its simple and understated beauty, the lily of the valley has long been cherished in France as "the flower that brings happiness" or "the flower that brings happiness again." May 1st is also known as "fête du muguet," a day to give lilies of the valley to loved ones. Furthermore, because its veiled appearance resembles a bride, it is a popular flower to give at weddings.

The design evokes the modest beauty of the lily of the valley. The deep greenish-blue color and white ceramic enhance its elegance. Between the patterns, a small floral relief is applied, adding a soft, lace-like impression, making this a truly charming series.
