This is an antique knife rest made by Boulenger.

Boulenger was a famous cutlery manufacturer active from 1810 to 1938.
They produced goods for the French navy and competed with Christofle to supply some of the cutlery for the SS Normandie.

This is a knife rest with a ribbon pattern.
