This is an antique plate from the Longwy Muguet (lily of the valley) series.

An antique plate you'll want to add to your cherished collection. This piece is meant to be enjoyed, displayed on a shelf, or used to hold accessories, rather than being tucked away.

The lily of the valley is also known as "Kimikage-sou" (shadow-watching plant), evoking the image of a beautiful and modest woman who secretly watches over a loved one from the shadows.

With its rustic and understated beauty, the lily of the valley has long been known in France as "the flower that brings happiness" or "the flower that brings back happiness." May 1st is "fête du muguet," a day to give lilies of the valley to loved ones. It is also a popular flower for weddings due to its resemblance to a veiled bride.

The design evokes the modest beauty of the lily of the valley. The deep greenish-blue and white ceramic further enhance its elegance. Between the motifs, a small floral relief is applied, adding a soft, lace-like impression to this charming series.
