This is an antique plate from the Muguet (lily of the valley) series by Longwy Pottery.

An antique plate you'll want to add to your treasured collection. It's a piece you'll want to display on a shelf or use to hold accessories, rather than keeping it tucked away, allowing you to enjoy it to the fullest.

Lily of the valley is also known as "Kimikage-sou" (shadow-hiding grass), evoking the image of a beautiful and modest woman who cherishes her loved ones and gently watches over them from the shadows.

With its rustic and understated beauty, lily of the valley has long been known in France as "the flower that brings happiness" or "the flower that brings happiness again." May 1st is "fête du muguet," a day when people give lilies of the valley to their loved ones. Also, because it resembles a veiled bride, it is often given at weddings.

Such is the pattern that evokes the humble beauty of the lily of the valley. The deep greenish-blue and white ceramics further enhance its elegance. Between the patterns, a small floral relief is applied, adding a soft, lace-like impression, making this a truly charming series.
