This is an antique soup tureen from the U&C Sarreguemines factory, from the Geranium series.

Its unique handles and beautiful side silhouette are captivating. The lace-like patterns on the top and bottom add an elegant touch.
This series was produced in the 1890s at Sarreguemines' Utzschneider pottery.
In France, vibrant red and pink geraniums have long been seen on windowsills and in potted plants.
Geraniums are popular for their refreshing scent, but they also have insect-repelling properties, which is why they have often been placed on windowsills since ancient times.

Geraniums are very familiar to the French.
At the end of their slender, delicate stems, they bear many small, cute star-shaped flowers. Their charming appearance is one reason they are so beloved.
