This is an antique soup tureen from the renowned Moustier pottery, a proud symbol of France.

The Moustier pottery flourished in the south of France from the late 17th to the 18th century. This piece, likely crafted during that era, is characterized by its elegant form and delicate painting.

As evidence of its long and cherished use, cracks are visible in several places. However, these have been carefully repaired with stapled repairs reminiscent of Japanese kintsugi, or "golden joinery," and other techniques of the time, exuding a sense of history and warmth.

Although there is no backstamp, its shape and glaze suggest it is from the Moustier pottery of the 18th to 19th centuries.

Simply placing it in your kitchen or on your table will elevate the space with a touch of elegance.

Condition: Crazing, cracks, chips, and glaze loss due to age are present, but please enjoy these as part of its antique charm.
