Berkel Vintage Scale
This is a vintage scale from Berkel, a long-established brand with over 100 years of history.
Berkel is famous for creating the Italian prosciutto slicer, and continues to produce products tailored to various needs today.
This particular scale is marked "Atelier Lyon," suggesting it was manufactured in a factory in Lyon, France, in the 1950s.
This brand, which started with prosciutto slicers, also invented many types of machinery used by butchers. This scale was used by butchers to weigh meat for sale.
Displaying it alongside knitted salami will allow you to fully enjoy the ambiance of a French butcher shop.
When it was acquired, there was noticeable rust, so the visible rust was removed, rust preventative applied, and then repainted to its original color.
Although there is some slight inaccuracy, the scale is still functional.
The "Berkel" logo and scale markings are on both the front and back, allowing you to appreciate the quality of the Berkel scale from both sides. We recommend placing it against a wall and changing the orientation of the markings and logo, almost like a reversible item.
Although there are some scratches and stains, it is a wonderful interior piece that allows you to fully enjoy its vintage charm.
