Cierge (Candle) 4cm diameter Orange
Ciergerie des Prémontrés
This 4cm diameter candle is made using a technique called "A La Louche" (ladle method). This technique is also known as "haute couture for candles," and the candles offered to churches are made using the same method.
This is a medieval technique, and because it is entirely handmade by craftsmen from beginning to end, it is of very high quality and can be used to create large, thick candles (up to 140cm high and 12cm in diameter).
The craftsman connects the candle wick to a metal ring and ladles hot, melted wax onto the wick hundreds of times, gradually thickening it. By repeatedly "adding wax and shaping it," the candle develops beautiful layers, much like the annual rings of a tree.
In addition, Ciergerie des Prémontrés candles, made with this meticulous process, containing plenty of beeswax and with the wick thoroughly saturated with wax, can burn for about twice as long as ordinary candles.
This is an item that we definitely recommend incorporating into your table setting. You can enjoy it in many ways, such as combining candles of different heights, thicknesses, and colors, or attaching candle jewels to create your preferred ambiance.
If using it as an interior decoration without lighting it, you can use it as is, as it stands upright without needing to be fixed. If lighting it, please be careful to prevent it from tipping over by dripping wax onto a plate to adhere it or by fixing it in a holder.
