Cierge (candle) 4 cm diameter Papyrus
Ciergerie des Prémontrés
This 4cm diameter candle is made using a technique called "A La Louche" (ladle method). This technique, also known as candle haute couture, is the same method used for candles consecrated in churches.
This is a medieval technique, and because it is entirely handmade by artisans from beginning to end, it results in very high quality and allows for the creation of large and thick candles (up to 140cm high and 12cm in diameter).
A metal ring is attached to the candle wick, and the artisan repeatedly ladles hot, molten wax onto the wick hundreds of times to gradually increase its thickness. The candles created by this repeated process of "adding and shaping" develop beautiful layers, much like the annual rings of a tree.
In addition to this, Ciergerie des Prémontrés candles, crafted with great attention to detail including a generous amount of beeswax and wicks thoroughly saturated with wax, can burn for about twice as long as ordinary candles.
This is an item we highly recommend incorporating into your table settings. You can enjoy combining candles of different heights, thicknesses, and colors, or by adding candle jewels to create your desired ambiance.
If using as interior decor without lighting, they stand upright without needing to be fixed, so you can use them as is. If lighting them, please be careful to prevent them from toppling over by dripping wax onto a plate to adhere them or by securing them in a holder.
