This is a vintage dessert plate from the Obernai series by Digoin & Sarreguemines.
The highly popular Obernai series was designed by the French Alsatian painter Henry Loux, and it vividly depicts the beautiful townscapes and daily life of Alsace.
This dessert plate features a scene with two brown and white horses drinking water by the riverside, and a person sitting on a saddle watching over them. In the background, houses with characteristic red roofs of Alsace can be seen, capturing a glimpse of everyday life where human life and nature are in harmony. Around the central illustration, the rim is adorned with beautiful bouquets and ribbons, making it a gorgeous and highly sought-after piece by collectors.
