The highly popular Obernai series was designed by Henry Loux, a painter from the Alsace region of France, and depicts the beautiful townscapes and daily life of Alsace in vivid detail.
This dessert plate features a landscape with two brown and white horses drinking water by the waterside, and a person seated on a saddle observing them. In the background, houses with red roofs characteristic of Alsace can be seen, capturing a scene from daily life where human activity and nature are in harmony. Surrounding the central motif, the rim is adorned with beautiful bouquets and ribbons, making this a vibrant and highly sought-after piece among collectors.
