Vintage Compotier Digoin & Sarreguemines Messidor
This is a vintage compotier from the Messidor series by the Digoin & Sarreguemines pottery.
This series is named "Harvest Month."
With a slightly greater height than a flat plate, the expansively drawn golden ears of wheat, vibrant red flowers, and deep, clear blue cornflowers stand out beautifully and three-dimensionally.
The warm texture of the stencil is complemented by dynamic touches added freehand by skilled artisans.
A single blue line on the rim modernly tightens the overall appearance of the piece.
The compotier is an item unique to antiques that adds "height" variation to table coordination, instantly elevating it to a special space.
Serve baked goods or macarons to make it the star of your tea time.
Alternatively, arranging fresh fruits like grapes or berries creates a beauty reminiscent of a still life painting.
In addition to everyday dining, it also makes a stunning display stand for seasonal flowers or small items in your favorite corner.
