Vintage Compotier Digoin & Sarreguemines Messidor

This is a vintage compotier from the Messidor series by the Digoin & Sarreguemines pottery.

This series is named "Harvest Month."
With a slightly greater height than a flat plate, the expansively drawn golden ears of wheat, vibrant red flowers, and deep, clear blue cornflowers stand out beautifully and three-dimensionally.

The warm texture of the stencil is complemented by dynamic touches added freehand by skilled artisans.
A single blue line on the rim modernly tightens the overall appearance of the piece.
