This is a vintage deep plate from the Messidor series by Digoin & Sarreguemines.

"Messidor" refers to "Harvest Month" in the French Republican Calendar, the season of abundance (mid-June to mid-July in the current calendar).

Fresh early summer flora are vividly depicted on its lustrous white ceramic surface, as if breathing life.
Warm golden wheat ears, large, brightly pink-tinged flowers, and deeply clear blue cornflowers.

This luxurious piece combines the soft texture of stenciling with the exquisite hand-painting of artisans.
The delicate brushstrokes, color gradations, and subtle fading on each plate capture the artisan's touch, making every piece unique.

The flowers and plants gracefully drawn along the rim resemble a beautiful "floral wreath" that never fades.
The bold empty space on the right half and the single blue line that tightens the overall composition create a very modern balance, instantly brightening any dining table.

With its artistic quality, akin to a painting, it has an overwhelming presence, making you want to display it in a cabinet.

[Condition] Shows some signs of use, with a chip on the reverse side of the rim, but is in relatively good condition.

[Size] Diameter approx. 22.3 cm x Height approx. 4 cm
[Era] 1920s to 1960s
