Vintage Cannister Grignot Poivre (Pepper)
This is a vintage Labrut & Cie Grigny pottery canister for Poivre (pepper).
Labrut & Cie Grigny operated near Lyon from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century.
This spice canister was made in the mid-20th century.
An adorable design featuring delicate, multi-colored bouquets scattered across a pale ivory ceramic body.
An elegant gold line adorns the bottom, and "Poivre (pepper)" is gracefully inscribed in the center.
It embodies the warmth of a good old French home, characteristic of the Grigny pottery.
Condition: Overall, there is crazing typical of vintage items, giving it a deep, antique character.
There is a small chip on the underside of the lid, but it is not noticeable from the front, and considering its age, it is in relatively good condition.
