Vintage Oval Plate Gien Barbotine

Vintage Gien oval platter, barbotine.

This platter, made with the barbotine technique, features a horse chestnut (marronnier) motif. In France, horse chestnut trees, which bear fruit resembling chestnuts, are planted as street trees.

The flower language of the horse chestnut is "luxury."

The three-dimensional quality of the layered leaves is wonderfully expressed.

The platter is divided into four sections, making it very practical.

It would also be lovely for displaying different types of accessories.

There is crazing.

This platter is in good condition with little signs of use.
