Vintage Plate Digoin & Sarreguemines Agreste D
This is a vintage Agreste series plate from the Digoin & Sarreguemines kiln.
In French, "Agreste" means something rustic, simple, or humble.
The bouquets depicted on the plate, including poppies, campanulas, thistles, and daisies, are all plants commonly seen in the French countryside.
Their unpretentious, simple beauty adorns the floral-rimmed plate.
The red line along the rim tightens the space just enough, enhancing its elegance.
Perhaps one reason for its popularity is the playful spirit of the creator, evident in the varying flowers that decorate the rim from plate to plate.
Condition: There is a crack on the back from manufacturing. There is a possibility of staining if immersed in water for a long time, but it does not affect the front.
