Vintage Plate Limoges GDA Chaux de Fonds D
This is a vintage plate from the Limoges GDA kiln, part of the Chaux de Fonds series.
GDA stands for the initials of Gerard, Dufraissex, and Abbot.
It is a porcelain plate.
The "Chaux-de-fonds" series is named after the Swiss city famous for its watchmaking industry,
and it is believed to have been designed with inspiration from this city.
It features delicate floral patterns reminiscent of Rococo style and gracefully curved reliefs,
with the gilded rim particularly evoking the lavish banquets of the aristocracy of that era.
The color scheme and design, which immediately bring Marie Antoinette to mind, are the charm of this piece.
