This is a vintage plate by HBCM (Hippolyte Boulenger Creil-Montereau), a French ceramics manufacturer.
The backstamp clearly shows "SERVICE TOLGA" and "H.B.C.M. FRANCE", indicating the origin of this plate (see image).
Features of the Tolga series
The rim is decorated with intricate line drawings and dots depicting exotic botanical/geometric patterns.
The vivid blue transfer print creates a sophisticated French chic dining experience.
The HBCM factory merged with Choisy-le-Roi in 1920 and continued production until 1955, making it a historic kiln.
This plate is a valuable item made between the 1920s and 1950s, during its heyday.
Condition: Craquelure due to age is present throughout, but it remains in good condition with no chips or cracks.
