Vintage Plate: Longchamp Poisson Gardon (Roach)
This is from the "Poisson" series by LONGCHAMP pottery.
This fish is a "Gardon" roach.
The roach is commonly found in Europe, characterized by its red fins and eyes. Its plump belly and body color are beautifully designed.
The rim of the square plate is adorned with gilt patterns of aquatic plants and seaweed, elegantly framing the vividly depicted fish.
These "poisson" (fish) designs have regained popularity in France and are now a sought-after series.
It would be lovely to display it on an open shelf, in the kitchen, or on your favorite wall.
Please enjoy it in any setting you prefer.
Condition: There is crazing due to age, but there are no chips or cracks, and the plate is in good condition with no signs of use.
