Vintage Plate: Longchamp Poisson Gardon (Roach)

This is from the "Poisson" series by LONGCHAMP pottery.

This fish is a "Gardon" roach.
The roach is commonly found in Europe, characterized by its red fins and eyes. Its plump belly and body color are beautifully designed.

The rim of the square plate is adorned with gilt patterns of aquatic plants and seaweed, elegantly framing the vividly depicted fish.
These "poisson" (fish) designs have regained popularity in France and are now a sought-after series.
