Vintage Plate Longchamp Pike (Trout)

This is from the "poisson" series by the LONGCHAMP pottery.

This particular fish is a "Brochet," or pike.
Pike are widely distributed throughout Europe. They are large fish, growing over a meter long, and are characterized by the spotted patterns on their bodies.
The design depicts the graceful, leisurely swimming pike, creating a powerful image.

The rim of the square plate is adorned with gold gilding featuring aquatic plants and seaweed motifs, beautifully framing the vibrantly depicted fish.
Such "poisson" (fish) designs are currently gaining renewed attention in France and have become a popular series.

It would be lovely to display it on an open shelf, in the kitchen, or on your favorite wall.
