Vintage Plate: Longchamp Poisson Carpe (Carp)

This is a "Poisson" (fish) series plate from the LONGCHAMP kiln.

This particular fish is a "Carpe" (carp). The aquatic plants and the bottom of the water are intricately depicted.
The carp swimming gracefully makes this a charming piece.

The rim of the square plate is adorned with gold leaf depicting aquatic plants and seaweed patterns, beautifully framing the lively fish.
Such "poisson" (fish) designs are gaining renewed attention in France and are becoming a popular series.
