Vintage Plate - Sarreguemines Messidor A
This is a vintage dinner plate from the Salins factory's Messidor series.
Produced between 1950 and 1960, the series features charming hand-painted designs with a gentle texture.
The rhythmic and soft rim, resembling flower petals, is accentuated by a deep crimson border, creating a harmonious balance.
The vibrant depiction of wheat ears and flowers conveys the joy of harvest.
The deep, purplish-red color gives a calm and mature impression. Therefore, despite the large design, it harmonizes beautifully without being overpowering.
It's a wonderful plate that you'll want to display like a painting.
The stamp on the back reads "E.C.", which is thought to be an abbreviation for Edouard Charbonnier. Edouard Charbonnier was the son of Robert Charbonnier of the Longchamp factory and served as president of the Salins factory from 1912 to 1968.
Crazing is present throughout. There are no chips or cracks. There are some minor cutlery marks, but they are not noticeable.
Size: Diameter 24.5cm x Height 2cm
Four plates from the same series are in stock (registered as A~D). In addition, deep plates and footed plates are also in stock.
