Vintage Plate "Salan Messidor B"
This is a vintage dinner plate from the Sarreguemines Messidor series.
Produced between 1950 and 1960, this series features a charming, gentle hand-painted aesthetic.
The rim is rhythmic and soft, like flower petals, and is accentuated by a deep crimson border, creating a pleasant sense of tension.
The ears of wheat and flowers are vibrantly depicted, conveying the joy of harvest.
The deep, purplish-red color is落ち着いていて大人な印象 and elegant. Therefore, despite the large pattern, it is not overly assertive and blends beautifully.
It's a beautiful plate that you'll want to display like a painting.
The stamp on the back reads E.C., which is likely an abbreviation for Edouard Charbonnier. Edouard Charbonnier, son of Robert Charbonnier of the Longchamp factory, served as president of the Sarreguemines factory from 1912 to 1968.
There is crazing throughout, with some staining on the back. There are chips on the back and rim. Some cutlery marks are visible.
Size: Diameter 24.5cm x Height 2cm
Four plates from the same series have arrived (registered as A~D), as well as deep plates and footed plates.
