Vintage Digoin & Sarreguemines Obernai Plate (B)
This is a vintage plate from the Digoin & Sarreguemines factory, from the Obernai series.
The highly popular Obernai series was designed by Henry Loux, an artist from the Alsace region of France,
and vividly depicts the beautiful streetscapes and daily life of Alsace.
This plate features a pastoral scene of people on white horses walking through a street.
Surrounding the central image, the rim is adorned with beautiful bouquets and ribbon decorations, making it a glamorous and highly sought-after piece among collectors.
It can be enjoyed not only as tableware to brighten up your dining table but also as an interior decoration displayed in a cabinet.
The landscape painting in the center of this plate and the surrounding flowers are printed with their left and right sides reversed, as a design variation.
This is thought to be an intentional design seen in some designs of the Obernai series, making it a rare and unique piece with a charm different from standard products.
